JOB TITLE: SLS Staff Engineer
DUTIES:
Ø Support Pall sales and customers wrt Pall products and applications through technical meetings or investigations, often at the end-user’s site
Ø Support internal customers through provision of technical advice & data
Ø Preparation and execution of assigned test and investigation programs, in-house and externally
Ø Adopt safe and environmental working practices
Ø Assist in the training of new, internal and external staff
Ø Assist in developing new test methods, equipment and procedures
KNOWLEDGE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Ø Ability to investigate & resolve technical problems and make recommendations
Ø Demonstrate practical abilities with regard to test set-up and execution
Ø Knowledge of processes/applications relevant to business supported
Ø Conversant with PC based programs
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Ø Science/engineering Degree (eg chemical engineer/chemists)
Ø Science or engineering orientated education to 1st degree level, or equivalent training and/or experience
Ø Flexible attitude to extended working hours & travel
Ø Good English communication skills
EXPERIENCE:
Ø Experience in relevant working environment preferred (eg Process, R&D, or QC in Display industry)
COMPETENCIES:
Ø Communication - Communicates clearly, concisely & objectively in verbal & written reports for presentation at all levels
Ø Team working - Works collaboratively with people within and across departments, and externally. Develops close ties with key sales team members.
Ø Personal development - Assimilates and applies job related information in order to function on the job. Constantly seeks new ways to grow and improve
Ø Planning and organising - Plans work logically and sequentially. Monitors progress against plans and targets. Can work independently under minimal direction/supervision. Can manage multiple work-in-progress tasks
Ø Thinking/Decision making - Takes a critical approach to information presented by others – questions and challenges to assess accuracy, validity, etc. Detects patterns and trends across different types of data
Ø Commercial/Financial – Aware of the commercial implications of the work and any recommendations that may be made. Responsible for personal expense account
