Senior Server BIOS Engineers
Job Description
The Senior Server BIOS Engineer will be responsible for leading the development efforts of a team of firmware engineers. The Senior Engineer has overall responsibility for the planning, design, coding, integration, and test of our UEFI based Server firmware products. He or she must have a track record of accomplishments in delivering PC based Server products.
Skill Requirements and Job Functions
o Must be able to balance the schedule demands of the customers with the skills of the engineers.
o Must have expertise with PC, Server, and BIOS/UEFI technology at a proficiency level sufficient to guide junior engineers, be viewed as a competent technical advisor to the customers, and other internal groups.
o Must be able to interact in English with US engineers and customers in a clear and consistent manner.
o Must be able to track engineering progress against schedules and reliably distribute progress information, be tolerant of schedule pressures while working with new code and new hardware and inflexible delivery dates, and be able to handle unexpected events with calmness, mental agility, and creativity.
o Must show a track record of progressive increases in technical responsibilities, be able to collaborate with other engineering groups to leverage each other’s efforts, to support QA and code release processes.
Technical Requirements
o BS or MS in Computer Science or EE, or 5 years of equivalent experience.
o 7+ years experience in the developing PC based Server firmware products.
o Must be proficient in C and x86 ASM, Windows development environment and tools, Intel/AMD Server CPU and its chipset, Server hardware architecture, and project management tools.
o Experienced in PC power and configuration management, Networking & storage protocols, Server diagnostics or boot load processes preferred..
o PC BIOS experience highly desirable, particularly with the new UEFI standards.
