JOB DESCRIPTION
Provide low level software support for Firewall and Network Security appliances using VxWorks and Linux operating systems. Job responsibilities include development, debugging and support of boot loaders, operating system extensions, device drivers, and developing and supporting manufacturing, development, and regulatory diagnostics.
Software Architecture
• Requires a wide knowledge base of the entire system including low level code, drivers, their interaction, and a high level understanding of the application level systems
• Must understand networking concepts
• Detailed knowledge about protocols and security algorithms a plus
• Must understand Real-Time and Embedded system concepts.
• Must be able to guide, direct, and assist application programmers by providing pertinent information about the environment that they\'re working in
• Must understand the Manufacturing environment and be able to work with others in that environment by supporting them
Hardware Platform Support
• Support all low level Operating System specific issues relating to our Firewall, SSL-VPN, and other network appliances
• Support Ethernet and TCP/IP networking subsystems
• Support Cryptographic Hardware drivers and APIs
• Support low level driver subsystems including, but not limited to, serial, flash storage, RAM controllers, Compact Flash, modem, ISDN, HW Crypto, Wireless (802.11) and PCI
• Design and implement board level diagnostics for:
o Manufacturing - Test systems during manufacturing process
o Development - Diagnostic code for bringing up and debugging prototype hardware systems
o Regulatory - Diagnostics required to place system into states required to perform regulatory and emissions testing
o Hardware QA - Diagnostics to aid in hardware QA testing
• Responsible for test station configuration and maintenance
• Must be able to guide, direct, and assist application programmers by providing pertinent information about the environment that they\'re working inMust understand the Manufacturing environment and be able to work with others in that environment by supporting them
Requirements
• Working knowledge of SQL programming is essential
• Knowledge of C++ and MFC classes is desirable
• Basic knowledge of networking hardware is required
• Specific knowledge of network security is a plus
• Must have prior manufacturing engineering experience
• Chinese/Mandarin fluency is a must
• Good command of English is a must
Education
• BS/MS in Engineering or Computer Science
• 7+ years experience developing software in C and Assembly language
• 4+ years experience using a scripting language such as bash, Perl, python, tcl or winbatch.
