工作內容/職務描述* Responsibilities:
- Determining configurations and work-flow of video encoding through open-source multimedia transcoding tools.
- Investigating technologies around video and audio compression.
- Working with our content operation teams to build ingesting specifications.
- Partnering with internal teams to troubleshoot problem streams.
- Quantifying gains in perceptual visual quality via new encoding profiles, recipes and enhancements.

* Qualifications:
- 2+ years of relevant multimedia software development experience.
- Knowledge of multimedia technologies, including container, codec and/or subtitle formats.
- Knowledge of H.264/AVC, AAC and MPEG-4 Part 12/14 specifications.
- Experience with open-source transcoding tools such as FFmpeg, GPAC, HandBrake or MPlayer.
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science (or equivalent).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

* Plus:
- Experience with Linux is highly desirable.
- Experience with high-level scripts, like Python, Ruby or Perl, for automated processing flow.
- Knowledge of MPEG-2, MPEG-2 TS, SVC, MVC, Apple ProRes, JPEG2000 and DPX compression techniques.
