Duties
• Architecture activity
- Studies, software architecture for new features, participation to the definition of the functional specification and design of Midlet and modules
- Participation to definition of 3rd parties applications porting and integration architecture
- Participation to definition, architecture and design activity of offer.
• Development activity
- Technical follow up on internal development of those modules
- Technical follow-up of 3rd parties applications integration (integration can be internal or external)
- Technical follow up of outsourced development (if any)
- Follow-up of validation activity on PC environment and reference hardware platforms (test plan definition and review, test activity follow-up)
- Development of some modules
• Maintenance activity
- Ownership of the product’s quality
- Provide monitoring information to the management.
• Presales Support:
Provide product expertise as part of customers/prospects evaluations in support of presales activities as required and according to own areas of competence
The role reports to the Chief Technical Officer
Personal Profile
• Experience:
- 5-10 years experience as a software developer and software architect in the embedded software industry
- Previous experience with a mobile phone manufacturer, mobile phone design house or mobile phone software application vendor as a software developer or architect is mandatory.
• Academic background:
- Engineering or Masters’ degree in Software Engineering or Telecoms
- Engineering from reputed Engineering School or University.
• Interpersonal skills:
- Result minded
- Autonomous and rigorous
- Creative and motivated in a dynamic environment
- Interest on new technologies
- Fluent English mandatory
- Fluent Mandarin mandatory
• Other :
- English language is a must
- Previous experience in multinational, startup environment.
Technical Profile
• Required skills:
- Very good knowledge about C/C++ programming on real-time systems
- Very good knowledge about wireless communication (GSM/GPRS/UMTS architecture and services)
- Very good knowledge of MMI on embedded devices, especially mobile phones
- Knowledge of complete mobile phone software architecture
- Knowledge of mobile phone validation and certification process
- Configuration management and bug tracking tools
• Optional skills
- Knowledge of any of the following Smartphone software frameworks: Embedded Linux, Trolltech QTOPIA, Symbian and S60, PalmOS, Windows Mobile, etc.
- Knowledge of any of the following mobile phone software frameworks: Qualcomm BREW, TTPCom Ajar, Obigo Mobile Suite Framework
