We are seeking a Visual/Graphic Designer to lead all aspects of creative design for the company’s products, specifically the website, http://resumecompanion.com. You will work alongside product managers and engineers in a truly collaborative way to take products from concept to production. If you have a passion for simplicity in form and function, we want to speak to you. Our team consists of Carnegie Mellon alumni with extensive internet marketing experience, running campaigns for large sites including Banks.com and IRS.com. We know how to make money on the internet, are cash flow positive, and privately owned. Being a start-up, you will be required to have an upbeat can-do attitude and to take on additional tasks if needed. Sometimes, we all have to help row the boat. Responsibilities: • Create and iterate on various designs using wireframes and comps • Work with Front-End Engineers to complete final implementations • Support the Marketing, Sales, and Business Development teams by creating visual materials Skills & Requirements: • Strong sense and eye for usability and design • Comprehensive illustration, iconography, and website design experience • Skill with visual design tools (Illustrator, Photoshop, or other goodness) • Creating fast, low-fidelity mockups (pen + paper, whiteboard, Omnigraffle, Balsamiq, etc) • The ability to communicate clearly about design rationale and choices • BA/BS in Visual Design, Interaction Design, or other visual arts preferred Nice to have: • The ability to design in HTML + CSS (fluency in HTML5 and CSS3) • Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, MySQL, Object Oriented Programming • Experience with agile software development principles (i.e.; SCRUM) • Excellent writing and reading English skills; spoken English skills not as important Why work at Resume Companion: • Highly competitive salary with annual bonuses tied to individual and company performance • Work in fasted paced start-up where your contribution is immediately felt • No dress code, no strict hours, no office politics.
