Kijiji TW, the eBay classified business is hiring a marketing manager to be responsible for Kijiji TW’s marketing strategy. This person will report to Kijiji Country Manager, TW and work with the entire Kijiji team to promote the website in TW.Kijiji is the fastest-evolving classified website in TW. Summary of Key Responsibilities and Activities

Sales Strategy
• Has a strategic overview of the business and sales industry as a whole.
• Owns and drives the sales strategy.
• Develops and implements a solid sales strategy with practical tangible results.
• Identifies new sales and revenue opportunities (i.e. business development).
• Manages the commission of sales plans among team members, incorporating short-term and long-term perspectives to effectively manage the pipeline of business.
• Oversees the major client accounts, providing support to others where necessary.

Project Management
• Account planning (finances and pipeline management).
• Sets and ensures achievement of quarterly targets.
• Day-to-day management of team members.
• Tracking of KPI (e.g. no. of contracts, leads made per day/week).

Client Management
• Develops long-term client relationships.
• Identifies where eBay Classifieds products/services can assist clients.
• Supports Key Account Managers and Account Managers with client accounts where required (e.g. influencing, persuading and client negotiations).
• Maintains and develops the existing client base, building new clients from zero.

Team Effectiveness
• Coordinates team members (i.e. Key Account Managers and Account Managers) and takes responsibility for the team’s performance.
• Breaks down targets and sets goals for team members.
• Ensures team achieves quarterly and annual targets.
• Maintains motivation of team members.
• Identifies areas of improvement within the team.
• Provides support and gives strategic direction and advice to team members on client accounts (e.g. pricing, solutions, negotiations and sales pitch preparation).
• Explains complex and challenging tasks to team members.

Leadership
Internal
• Provides a structured sales environment for the team.
• Acts as role model for Key Account Managers and Account Managers.
• Works across the other business units e.g. marketing, IT, product development.
External
• Industry networking (represent the eBay Classified brand at industry relevant events) and client partnership development.

People Management
• Manages the performance and coaching of team members.
• Provides career advice (‘career pathing’) and identify areas for development in each direct report.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

Online sales skills
• Candidates must have experience of online sales for this role.
• As the Sales Manager is a role model for other team members, it is important that the Sales Manager is competent in this area.
• If a candidate does not have strong experience in this area, they should, at a minimum, have a strong interest in the online/eCommerce world.
• It is crucial to be a quick learner and able to adapt as the job requires and as the online industry changes

.
Agency contacts and knowledge
• Candidates should bring with them excellent agency contacts and networks within the industry.

Numerical literacy
• Candidates must understand numerical significance, financial terminology and general budgeting knowledge. Expert numerical skills are not crucial but a basic level of understanding is required.
• Candidates should understand metrics, revenue drivers in the business and how they link to quarterly targets.
• Candidates should have a solid understanding of sales figures, particularly because of the quarterly timeline focus, and understand how forecasts impact pipeline development.
• Candidates should be able to read excel spreadsheets, understand market data regarding the current position, forecast numbers based on future opportunities.
Local market and industry knowledge
• Candidates must have a strategic insight of the local market; geographical context and product industry.
• Candidates should be aware of challenges in the market, competitors, future directions, and how technology and other developments will affect them and their clients.

Qualifications & Language Requirements

• University degree is preferred (this may be overcome in some instances, where the individual has significant and relevant experience with proven results).
• Minimum of 5-7 years experience in sales (to manage Account Managers); 6-10 years ( to manage Key Account Managers).
• Fluency in native language of the country of business.
• Additional languages where required by specific country requirements.
• Proficient in MS Excel.
